WAPELLO – Fort Madison got things turned around in high school boys' wrestling action Tuesday night with a double dual win at Wapello High School.
The Hounds rolled Lone Tree 75-4 in a match with only a few actually weights making the mat.
Cole Quittem scored a 14-11 major decision over Lone Tree’s Cole Walmsley at 106 and Caleb Bolander pinned Lone Tree’s Clemens Swink in 1:14 at 138 lbs. Tateum Schelich (144) and Gavin Callahan (175) each recorded pins in the win, as well.
The rest of the Bloodhound points came from forfeits.
Fort Madison then wrestled to a 54-26 win over Wapello in the other dual of the night.
The Bloodhounds recorded pins at 215, 285, 132, 157 and 165 lbs. Aaron Warner’s pin at 1:18 in the 215 lb. match was the quickest Hound fall of the night. Cory Arnett, Logan Pennock, Nolan Riddle, and Joe Hartman all had pins to lead the Hounds.
The Hounds move to 2-1 in dual meets this year, opening the year with a loss to Quincy in the season opener.
Fort Madison travels to Wentzville, Mo., Saturday for the Liberty High School Invitational.
